The Dancers’ Fund

Financial Assistance for Chicago’s Professional Dance Community

The Dancers’ Fund provides financial assistance (grants) to dance community professionals dealing with critical health issues creating a significant financial, emergency, or catastrophic hardship. Although this program was created in response to the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on the dance community, our mission has now broadened. The fund offers assistance in, but not limited to, the following areas: housing, utilities, insurance, medication, and travel.

Established in 1994, The Dancers’ Fund serves as a model of how a creative community can respond to a crisis and community needs with effectiveness and compassion.

AIDS Foundation of Chicago

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago mobilizes communities to create equity and justice for people living with and vulnerable to HIV and related chronic diseases.

Strategic Priorities:

Improve health equity.
Prevent new cases of HIV.
Serve as a collaboration and knowledge center.
Be a bold voice for change.

Dance for Life Chicago continues to benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and The Dancers’ Fund annually and since 1992 has supported 28 additional AIDS Service Providing Organizations in Chicago, not including those organizations that have benefited from direct AIDS Foundation of Chicago grants.
